Beauty in the Countryside

Dewan Irawan is a photographer from Indonesia. He loves to capture the innocence and raw beauty of the countryside in Indonesia, as that side is known little to outside world. His photographs indicate the interaction between nature and human.

His photographs are beautiful almost depicting fairytale like. There is surrealism element in his picture as he shot it with such great detail; it’s almost felt surreal. He also plays with natural light in his photograph, achieving very vibrant color in the pictures. He emphasizes the focus point by blurring the background and sharpening the subject.

From his photo, I can see that he is a social and nature photographer, as he combined the two elements in his pictures. He photographed the activities that is rather unusual in modern world, such as cock fighting or washing clothes in river. It's less about him and more about the subject in pictures that he took. 

As you can see in his photographs, a story was being told by the visuals about how the children are happily playing with each other, how the adults live their life and what sort of entertainment available in the countryside.
